I am a wife, mother of 5, writer, and homeschooler who lives in Denver. As a lifelong Catholic, I write about Catholic spirituality, prayer, discernment, motherhood, and occasionally homeschooling.
My husband is a woodworker and builder of beautiful things, and I aspire to build beautiful ideas out of words that reflect the truth and beauty of God. I am always looking at the interplay between faith and creation, contemplating how our vocations make us holy and how God is speaking to us in every day life.
I am the author of two books and many online articles. Scroll down see more!

I write on the subtleties of the spiritual life: prayer, motherhood, and every-day spirituality, exploring how to grow deeper in union with God.
I have been a speaker at women's conferences, homeschool conferences, moms' groups, and youth retreats.
If you are interested in me speaking to your group, please use the contact form at the bottom of the page.

You are invited to partake in the greatest love story of all time: intimate union with the Divine Bridegroom. Drawing from her own lived experience, Allison reflects on how our relationship with God mirrors that of a marriage, where we learn to let Him speak to our hearts and engage in a mutual gift of everlasting love, even as we endure weariness, stress, and painful seasons.
In these pages, you will discover:
Holiness is saying "I love you" again and again, even amid challenges of faith and strained relationships. Even when words fail us, we can communicate in the language of God in silence and contemplation.
The Lord is waiting for you to let Him love you and to love Him in return. When you open your heart to this adventure, you will begin to experience the ineffable joy of nuptial union with Almighty God.
“When a writer is able to take the most sublime and mysterious realities and wrap them in words that reveal, clarify, and compel, she surely is participating in the ongoing mission of the Word Himself.
Relatable stories and solid spiritual theology? Yes, please! Ineffable is perfect not only for adoration and personal prayer but also for the mom’s group or book club that wants something of real substance to pray with and discuss.”
“To describe the life of prayer, you must cultivate genuine curiosity about what God is doing and then be honest with what you find. In Ineffable, Allison Auth has done just this. In keeping with our precious tradition of saints and mystics, seekers and strivers, she has shared her heart, and -- in doing so -- shared something of the Lord's heart for us.”
"In this honest and encouraging book, Allison invites mothers into a more intimate relationship with God by sharing the struggles and graces of her own spiritual journey. With wisdom drawn from saints and spiritual writers, she speaks tenderly to the dryness, discouragement, and distance moms can experience in prayer, offering hope that even “sleepy and dry” prayer can become a place of transformation. Mystery, the ineffable of the spiritual life unfolds not as something to fear, but as something to embrace, ponder, and grow comfortable with.”
“With warmth and clarity, Allison Auth invites readers into moment after moment of profound yet simple spiritual discovery. Ineffable expertly weaves Scripture, story, and reflective questions that lead readers to more deeply discern who God is and who they are in Him. A prayerful companion I will return to often, nurturing a richer, more personal relationship with the God who sees, reveals, and loves inexpressibly.”
“Skillfully drawing on solid sources, Allison Auth has written a very helpful book for those interested in understanding better the life of prayer and union with God. Enlivened by honest sharing about her own life, marriage and family, this book will help and encourage many.”
"Allison Auth explores the amazing topic of God's love for each one of us in a manner accessible to any reader wishing to have a more intimate relationship with God. She references great saints and scholars to build a beautiful case for developing a plan of life for those interested in growing in the language of prayer and the interior life. Ineffable is grounded in solid Church teaching and fortified with everyday personal experience within marriage and family to make this work very practical. I believe it is a needed and trustworthy guide for the path to greater holiness as lay people in the world."
“Allison Auth has written a beautiful and faithful book for Catholics who long to grow closer to God in prayer. With warmth and honesty, she helps readers enter more deeply into the mystery of a God who speaks, listens, heals, and draws us into communion with Him.
Rooted in Scripture, the saints, the Catechism, and the real challenges of daily life, this book is a gift for anyone who wants prayer to become less of an obligation and more of a relationship of love. She highlights that the realities of marriage and family life are not an obstacle to a deep spiritual life, but actually an invitation to intimacy with an ineffable God.
We are grateful for this book and happy to recommend it.”
“Ineffable is the kind of book on the spiritual life you’ll want to savor slowly—lingering over its pages, returning to its wisdom, and allowing its insights to sink deeply into the soul. With clarity and warmth, Auth distills the profound mystery of prayer into an accessible guide for ordinary Christians seeking deeper communion with God.
In Ineffable, Auth weaves together a treasure trove of spiritual resources from the Catholic tradition into an easily readable format. The result is a simple vision for integrating prayer into everyday life in a way that forms saints.
This is the kind of book that transforms souls."
"Just as moms of toddlers cut hot dogs and grapes into appropriate bite sized pieces for their kids at lunch time, Allison Auth offers a similar spread of satisfying spiritual nourishment for busy moms who desire to feast at the table of prayer. She reveals that conversation –and even contemplation--with God can become as natural as breathing. For moms who are regularly told “you’ve got your hands full,” Ineffable: Learning to Love the God Beyond Words offers a place to put it all down, to finally be held and behold the gaze of the One who seeks to fill your heart with His love and presence."

Having a baby changes everything: your body, your relationship with your husband, your sleep schedule, and your identity. In these honest pages, Allison Auth shares real-life stories on every facet of postpartum life, shedding light on the physical, spiritual, and emotional components of recovery.
"I received Baby and Beyond as a gift after my second daughter was born and wish I'd read it after I had my first. It would have been such a gift during my early struggles when I became a mom. Somehow, Allison manages to be both encouraging and honest (a balance that can be difficult to strike!). It's a must-read for Catholic moms, but any mom could benefit from reading it. It'll be my go-to baby shower gift from now on!"
"I'm thrilled that the book Baby and Beyond: Overcoming Those Post-Childbirth Woes exists. Allison Auth has given all us mommas a true gift in sharing her own experiences. Postpartum Is a crazy time - and in this book, you learn that you are not alone in it. There's a way through and even a way to thrive in the midst of the chaos."
After reading Allison's book, Baby and Beyond, all I could think was where was this book six kids ago? My first four post-partum experiences were textbook fantastic, and then babies five and six came along. I kept thinking I should've had it figured out by then, but I didn't. For any mom who feels overwhelmed, less-than, stressed or anxious about all the new changes and challenges that come with new life, gift her this book. You can thank me later. Brava, Allison, on writing the book we didn't know we needed!
